About the Role:
Join our Learning Disabilities service in Slough as a kind, compassionate, and resilient Specialist Behavioural Support Worker. This role focuses on supporting individuals with learning disabilities and behavioural needs to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support individuals with a full timetable of preferred activities, including art, visits, and community engagement.
- Develop independent living skills and involve individuals in all aspects of home maintenance (cooking, shopping, cleaning, decorating).
- Maintain a clean and safe home environment, including cleaning, security, and record keeping.
- Enable communication and connection with family and other key stakeholders.
- Support individuals to manage anxieties and frustrations, using positive behaviour support and autism-specific approaches.
- Collect behavioral data and essential paperwork for analysis.
- Drive individuals to activities, rotating duties with the team.
- Communicate with family members and stakeholders (social work, psychology, commissioning).
- Adhere to Look Ahead policies and procedures, statutory requirements, and service-specific guidelines.
- Regularly review individual life goals and progress.
- Provide personal care support.
Skills and Expertise:
- NVQ Level 3 or 2 (or equivalent)
- 2+ years experience working with individuals with Autism/challenging behaviour/learning disabilities
- Driving licence and willingness to drive
