About the Role:
Assist in the preparation and provision of meals, managing the day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring adherence to health and safety, and food hygiene regulations in a care home setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook nutritious and appealing meals and snacks adhering to pre-set menus and Health & Safety Regulations.
- Manage kitchen stock, reporting needs to relevant staff to maintain sufficient supplies.
- Ensure the cleanliness and security of the kitchen and storerooms.
- Attend required training sessions.
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
- Comply with all Health & Safety, Fire Regulations, and Care Home policies.
Skills and Expertise:
- Experience in food preparation and cooking.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene regulations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work well within a care home environment, respecting residents’ choices.
- Commitment, patience, and a caring nature.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
