About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Carer for a young man with learning difficulties and epilepsy. This role involves providing comprehensive care, including personal care, meal preparation, and engaging in stimulating activities. The successful candidate will be part of a small team of carers and will enjoy a varied and rewarding role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing personal care, including assisting with bathing, dressing, and hygiene.
- Preparing meals and ensuring medication is administered safely and correctly.
- Planning and executing engaging activities, such as walks, cycling, or trips to the cinema.
- Supporting the individual to maintain independence in daily tasks.
- Maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
- Minimal paperwork is required
Skills and Expertise:
- Experience in caring for individuals with learning difficulties and/or epilepsy preferred.
- Patience, empathy, and a caring attitude.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work well as part of a team.
- Understanding of epilepsy and administration of medication.
- Driving is not essential.
Job Facilities/Benefits:
- Hours: 16-25 per week on a set 3-week rota (predictable shifts)
- Shift hours: 8am to 2pm, 2pm to 8pm.
- Additional hours available to cover other carer holidays.
