About the Role:

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Carer for a young man with learning difficulties and epilepsy. This role involves providing comprehensive care, including personal care, meal preparation, and engaging in stimulating activities. The successful candidate will be part of a small team of carers and will enjoy a varied and rewarding role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing personal care, including assisting with bathing, dressing, and hygiene.
  • Preparing meals and ensuring medication is administered safely and correctly.
  • Planning and executing engaging activities, such as walks, cycling, or trips to the cinema.
  • Supporting the individual to maintain independence in daily tasks.
  • Maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
  • Minimal paperwork is required

Skills and Expertise:

  • Experience in caring for individuals with learning difficulties and/or epilepsy preferred.
  • Patience, empathy, and a caring attitude.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Understanding of epilepsy and administration of medication.
  • Driving is not essential.

Job Facilities/Benefits:

  • Hours: 16-25 per week on a set 3-week rota (predictable shifts)
  • Shift hours: 8am to 2pm, 2pm to 8pm.
  • Additional hours available to cover other carer holidays.
