First Contact Chefs
About the Role:
This stylish hotel seeks a passionate and enthusiastic Chef de Partie to join their talented kitchen brigade and contribute to the creation of exquisite dishes. You’ll play a key role in leading a section and mentoring junior chefs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and oversee daily section operations to meet service demands.
- Adhere to all health and hygiene standards.
- Supervise and mentor a team of commis and demi chefs.
- Ensure food quality and adherence to recipes and standards.
- Receive orders from the sous chef and monitor commis and demi chef performance.
- Prepare daily requisitions for wine, dry storage, and food items for sous chef approval.
- Maintain a clean and efficient kitchen section and maximize food utilization.
- Participate in food preparation, portioning, and cost control.
- Communicate and collaborate with back-of-house personnel for efficient food production.
- Conduct daily food line inspections to guarantee quality maintenance.
Skills and Expertise:
- NVQ levels 2 & 3 (or equivalent) preferred.
- Experience working in a Michelin star or AA Rosette establishment.
- Proven hotel or restaurant background.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and styles.
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and COSHH regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written English skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Proven experience working with fresh produce.
- Hold NVQ level 1 & 2 or equivalent and hygiene certificate.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom.
