About the Role:

Are you a qualified Chef looking for a fulfilling role with a focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients and a better work-life balance? As a Second Chef at Barchester, you’ll help deliver high-quality, nutritious meals while working with residents to create personalized menus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence.
  • Assist Head Chef in menu development.
  • Work with fresh produce to deliver high-quality, wholesome dishes.
  • Create a warm, efficient, and fun kitchen environment.
  • Work within budget.
  • Complete regular audits.
  • Manage stock control.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Qualified Chef with City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent.
  • Good understanding of nutrition.
  • Experience working with fresh, seasonal food.
  • Ability to create a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Confidence engaging with residents to create appealing and nutritious menus.
  • Good understanding of HACCP.
