About the Role:

Support children aged 6-18 with emotional behavioural disorders and complex needs in Cardiff. This role is focused on safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, building relationships, and fostering inclusivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children aged 6-18 with emotional behavioural disorder and/or complex needs.
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
  • Ensure an inclusive and fair environment.
  • Deal with challenging behaviour.
  • Adhere to personal care plans.
  • Adhere to health and safety practices.
  • Build rapport and empower children.
  • Build relationships with families.
  • Maintain accurate records (GDPR compliant).
  • Provide child-centred care for children with complex needs.
  • Perform elements of personal care, if required.

Skills and Expertise:

  • 1 year experience in children’s social care.
  • Child-centred approach to care.
  • Positive attitude to care.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care (desirable).
  • Understanding of children’s human rights and safeguarding.
  • Experience in multi-agency environments (desirable).
  • Self-motivation and determination.
  • Enhanced DBS check (Update Service DBS’ desirable).
