About the Role:
This exciting opportunity awaits a dedicated and experienced Children’s Occupational Therapist to join a specialist paediatric Occupational Therapy service in Worthing, West Sussex. The role offers the chance to expand clinical skills within the community setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of children and young people with neurological and developmental conditions.
- Formulate and deliver treatment programmes based on evidence-based practice.
- Treat patients with respect and dignity, respecting individual needs.
- Supervise staff at Band 3-5 levels.
- Act as a clinical educator for undergraduate students.
- Receive and deliver internal training, updating personal development plans.
- Conduct service audits and evaluations.
- Assist with service development initiatives.
- Work effectively as a team member.
- Plan therapy pathways and evaluate outcomes.
- Report and document patient condition changes.
- Offer advice and support to patients and carers.
- Undertake referrals for services.
- Provide holistic assessments of patient needs.
- Formulate individual treatment programmes.
- Evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment as needed.
- Assess patient understanding and gain informed consent.
- Manage clinical risk and potential risks to others.
- Comply with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate patient records.
- Maintain and develop professional competency through CPD.
- Clinically supervise, support, and teach other staff.
- Support operational lead with staff appraisals and career development.
Skills and Expertise:
- Current HPC registration.
- Demonstrated clinical skills through previous OT experience.
- Experience in community-based OT work.
- Excellent time management and organisation skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Proven ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
