About the Role:

This exciting opportunity awaits a dedicated and experienced Children’s Occupational Therapist to join a specialist paediatric Occupational Therapy service in Worthing, West Sussex. The role offers the chance to expand clinical skills within the community setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of children and young people with neurological and developmental conditions.
  • Formulate and deliver treatment programmes based on evidence-based practice.
  • Treat patients with respect and dignity, respecting individual needs.
  • Supervise staff at Band 3-5 levels.
  • Act as a clinical educator for undergraduate students.
  • Receive and deliver internal training, updating personal development plans.
  • Conduct service audits and evaluations.
  • Assist with service development initiatives.
  • Work effectively as a team member.
  • Plan therapy pathways and evaluate outcomes.
  • Report and document patient condition changes.
  • Offer advice and support to patients and carers.
  • Undertake referrals for services.
  • Provide holistic assessments of patient needs.
  • Formulate individual treatment programmes.
  • Evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment as needed.
  • Assess patient understanding and gain informed consent.
  • Manage clinical risk and potential risks to others.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate patient records.
  • Maintain and develop professional competency through CPD.
  • Clinically supervise, support, and teach other staff.
  • Support operational lead with staff appraisals and career development.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Current HPC registration.
  • Demonstrated clinical skills through previous OT experience.
  • Experience in community-based OT work.
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proven ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
