About the Role:
This interim Children’s Senior Social Worker position in Wakefield is for a dedicated professional to manage a caseload of complex cases, including children in need, child protection plans, and care proceedings. The successful candidate will support children, young people, families, and carers through assessment, planning, reviewing, and restorative work, ensuring their needs are met in line with relevant statutory procedures and best practices using a child-focused approach. This 3-month position is located in Wakefield and requires relevant experience managing cases in care proceedings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out key worker responsibilities for a caseload of children with complex needs.
- Undertake assessment, planning, and reviewing work concerning children in need, child protection plans, and those in care using the Signs of Safety model.
- Work restoratively with children, families, and carers to support them in making informed decisions and contributing to service planning.
- Analyse information to support the ongoing needs of children, young people, and their families.
- Work directly with children and young people to ensure assessments and interventions are informed by their views.
Skills and Expertise:
- Appropriate social work professional qualification (BA/MA in Social Work, Dip in Social Work, or equivalent).
- Registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- In-depth knowledge of relevant policies, legislation, and best practice in social work.
- Relevant experience managing cases in care proceedings.
- Strong keyboarding skills for accurate information provision.
