About the Role:
Our client seeks an experienced Class 2 Driver for high-quality waste and recycling collections in Reading. You’ll play a key role in maintaining excellent customer service for residents, driving various HGVs and performing essential vehicle checks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive and load vehicles for waste and recycling collection services.
- Ensure vehicle operation and tasks adhere to safety procedures and legal requirements.
- Proactively report safety concerns, accidents, or incidents.
- Conduct vehicle checks for condition and road worthiness, completing necessary forms and reporting any issues.
- Utilise work allocation systems to efficiently report back to the office.
- Record completed work using electronic devices for maximum productivity.
- Occasionally work overtime on weekends or assist with duties outside the job description, as needed.
Skills and Expertise:
- Valid HGV 2 licence
- Valid driver card (CPC)
- Tachograph card
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends
Job Facilities/Benefits:
- 16.70 per hour
- 25.05 overtime pay rate
- 28 days Paid Annual Leave (pro-rata for PAYE)
