About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Classroom Teacher with Core Curriculum responsibility to join our team. This role plays a pivotal part in crafting engaging and impactful learning experiences for autistic pupils. The role requires a deep understanding of innovative teaching methods to cater for diverse learning needs within a small class environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the core curriculum for autistic pupils, taking into account individual learning needs.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, teaching assistants, and other Subject Leads to continuously improve learning outcomes and the effectiveness of the curriculum for autistic students.
  • Innovate and stay at the forefront of education practices for autistic learners with cognitive and sensory difficulties.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to ensure optimal learning and development.
  • Create a positive and supportive learning environment that fosters the personal growth and potential of each student.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Proven experience working with autistic pupils (ideally a strong understanding of the diverse learning needs within this population).
  • Deep knowledge of the core curriculum.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods based on student needs.
