About the Role:
This Commercial Services Lead role oversees a diverse portfolio of Place, Fire, Digital, and Corporate categories in Greater Manchester. You’ll provide expert advice to senior managers and directors, managing resources to improve commercial outcomes for projects and driving efficiency across the City-regions Collaborative Procurement Hub.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the wide-ranging Place, Fire, Digital, and Corporate categories.
- Provide professional advice and manage resources to deliver project pipelines for better commercial outcomes.
- Manage a team of nine to assist in a programme of tender exercises.
- Lead workstreams in the City-regions Collaborative Procurement Hub.
- Drive the Commercial Business Improvement plan, ensuring organizational readiness for new procurement regulations.
- Develop and embed a new Contract Management Framework.
- Influence the direction and scope of the team to improve outcomes.
Skills and Expertise:
- Well-experienced Procurement Manager with a thorough understanding of public procurement.
- Strong commercial sense and understanding of GMCAs political landscape.
- High degree of professional and ethical integrity.
- Strong communication skills to build relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Ability to act independently and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of open, negotiated, and dialogue procurement processes.
Job Facilities/Benefits:
- Competitive salary: 58,468 – 63,452
- Permanent contract
- 36.25 hour work week
