About the Role:
Join an award-winning Scottish charity as a full-time Community Caf Project Worker to develop a pay-what-you-can caf initiative at our vibrant community hub in Fort William. This role offers the opportunity to shape the caf’s growth and make a tangible impact on the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily caf operations, including food service, stock management, and maintaining a clean environment.
- Create a welcoming atmosphere and build relationships with caf visitors and community members.
- Handle cash donations, maintain financial records, and manage the pay-what-you-can system.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain appropriate documentation.
- Develop creative ideas for caf growth and community engagement.
- Organize and maintain community space for various activities and events.
- Promote the caf and community space through social media and local networks.
- Work collaboratively with other team members and volunteers.
- Offer basic hospitality training and support to volunteers.
- Support community events and activities.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the space.
- Assist in monitoring and reporting on caf usage and community impact.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to project development.
- Work occasional events with notice (Time off in lieu will be applied).
Skills and Expertise:
- Self-motivation and initiative
- Ability to innovate and test new ideas
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in hospitality or caf operations (preferred)
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Financial management skills
- Experience in community engagement
- Strong work ethic
