About the Role:

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Anaesthetist to join our team of specialists. This position offers a dynamic environment with cross-site opportunities and a focus on patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical services in anaesthesia, perioperative care, theatres, and pre-operative assessment clinics.
  • Participate in on-call commitments.
  • Contribute to a robust portfolio pathway for recruitment.
  • Deliver high-quality anaesthesia services.
  • Participate in the on-call rota.
  • Perform 8.5 PA per week of clinical activities (pre-operative assessment clinics, elective and emergency theatre work, peri-operative medicine, acute pain, MDT meetings).
  • Complete 1.5 PA per week of Supporting Professional Activities (audit, clinical governance, teaching, research, educational supervision, CPD).
  • Potential for cross-site or single-site work, with single-site on-call.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Specialist Register status with CCT in Anaesthesia, or within 6 months of gaining CCT.
  • Significant experience in major sub-specialties (Trauma, Maternity, neuro-anaesthesia, urology, major robotic surgery, regional anaesthesia, orthopaedics, colorectal surgery, perioperative medicine, head and neck/airway anaesthesia).
  • Exceptional clinical skills and experience in anaesthesia.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
