About the Role:
Support pupils with SEMH needs in a Lancashire secondary school. Build relationships, mentor students, and lead classes. This temporary role offers the possibility of a permanent position depending on performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build relationships and act as a mentor and role model for students aged 11-16.
- Lead classes and organize daily tasks.
- Implement mentoring skills to help students engage with the school.
- Support pupils both in and out of the classroom, using a vocational approach.
Skills and Expertise:
- Strong cover supervisor, teaching assistant, or tutoring background with students from PRUs or SEMH schools.
- Experience in a similar setting.
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- GCSE Maths and English.
- Computer literacy.
- Mentoring children and young adults.
Job Facilities/Benefits:
- Temporary position with potential for permanency.
- 100 per day.
- 0830 – 1530 Monday to Friday.
