About the Role:
This role involves the management and administration of Liverpool John Moores University’s datacentres. You’ll be responsible for the upkeep and integrity of critical IT infrastructure, supporting the university’s operational and student-facing IT services. This is a key role supporting the continued growth of the University’s IT services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the University’s two primary datacentres and multiple satellite datacentres.
- Administer Data Storage Systems (HPE Alletra SANs and Scality).
- Maintain Backup/Recovery infrastructure (Veeam).
- Maintain the integrity of user and application data.
- Manage physical server hardware maintenance (HPE).
- Maintain centralized High Performance Computing (HPC) service.
- Maintain datacentre infrastructure and supporting systems.
- Work with Windows and RedHat Linux operating systems.
- Address IT service issues, both scheduled and unscheduled.
Skills and Expertise:
- Experience with Data Storage Systems (HPE Alletra SANs and Scality).
- Experience with Backup/Recovery infrastructure (Veeam).
- Expertise in maintaining physical server hardware (HPE).
- Experience with centralized HPC service management.
- Proficiency with Windows and RedHat Linux operating systems.
- Understanding of datacentre infrastructure.
