About the Role:

Join our dynamic team at the Lambeth Living Well Centres in South London and lead a dedicated mental health support service. This role involves managing a team and delivering high-quality care to individuals with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage safe and effective delivery of care and support within delegated responsibilities.
  • Ensure centre workforce adheres to Living Well Network Alliance principles, values, and outcomes.
  • Meet all delegated statutory and regulated duties, supported by partner organizations.
  • Improve quality, maintain safety, and lead innovative practice.
  • Oversee a service user’s care pathway, utilizing resources and the Patient Journey framework.
  • Ensure user and carer-centred involvement in care planning and provision.
  • Ensure staff receive regular supervision, appraisal, and training.
  • Ensure service users are aware of and assisted to use available services.
  • Ensure all mental health legislation requirements are met.
  • Set, monitor, and evaluate care standards in liaison with centre lead and agencies.
  • Preserve dignity, respect individual identity, and maintain independence for service users.
  • Ensure staff awareness of professional behavior standards.
  • Ensure continuity of care out of hours, liaising with senior managers and medical teams.
  • Work closely with the integrated workforce and involve them in daily decisions.
  • Maintain efficient use of staffing resources, ensuring safe and appropriate staffing levels and skill mix.
  • Ensure each staff member is aware of responsibilities and has a personal development plan.
  • Manage team development, encouraging staff input and ideas.
  • Implement Trust policies and HR management, ensuring staff awareness.
  • Delegate duties and responsibilities to assist unit operation and staff development.
  • Develop and maintain procedures for good inter-agency communication.
  • Arrange and chair meetings with agencies, patients, and carers.
  • Lead team in setting, implementing, and monitoring objectives aligned with service aims.
  • Attend meetings and represent the team, keeping staff informed.
  • Participate in relevant inter-agency work.
  • Ensure high-quality communication with other departments and agencies.
  • Ensure appropriate access and storage of information complying with the Data Protection Act.
  • Ensure accurate and timely collection of statistical data.
  • Adhere to the Health and Safety at Work Act and provide necessary training to staff.
  • Take immediate action to address safety concerns, liaising with the Health and Safety Co-ordinator.
  • Manage incidents using the Trust Incident Policy and implementation outcomes.
  • Be prepared to physically move between sites as needed.
  • Ensure awareness of current developments and practice in clinical area.
  • Acknowledge limitations, discuss and identify training needs with line manager.
  • Make effective use of supervision.
  • Manage time efficiently and act as a role model.
  • Meet professional standards for ongoing registration.
  • Recognize emotional and mental effort required for the role.
  • Deputize for the centre lead as required.
  • Build working relationships between services.
  • Ensure systems for service user and carer feedback on services.
  • Implement complaint procedure, including investigation, response, and resolution.
  • Keep line manager informed of developments.
  • Safely store and administer medications.
  • Create a conducive learning environment meeting educational standards.
  • Facilitate team involvement in staff training.
  • Participate in projects as required.
  • Undertake other duties as delegated by the Clinical Service Lead.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Registered Mental Health or Learning Disability Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Social Worker.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Commitment to high standards of care.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven experience in mental health care.
