About the Role:
Lead the cross-government Joint Combating Drugs Unit (JCDU) in Greater Manchester, developing and overseeing the delivery of a 10-year national drug strategy. This role requires strong leadership and collaboration with multiple stakeholders to achieve impactful results across government departments and partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the cross-Government drugs strategy, working with partners locally, nationally, and internationally.
- Review and prioritize the 10-year drug strategy, adapting to emerging risks and maximizing impact across government missions.
- Track and drive delivery of the drug strategy across all departments and partners.
- Support and advise the cross-Government drugs minister, enabling a collective leadership approach.
- Cohere spending review priorities and strategic narrative related to the drugs strategy.
Skills and Expertise:
- Proven leadership and strategic thinking in a cross-functional environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.
- In-depth understanding of drug policy and related government programs.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including risk assessment and mitigation.
- Experience leading and motivating teams across various agencies.
