About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Ward Manager/Charge Nurse to lead a bespoke therapeutic placement unit within a leading mental health hospital in Greater Manchester. This role involves providing high-quality, innovative care to young people and adults with challenging and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as Senior Nurse, maintaining a safe and therapeutic ward environment for patients, families, and visitors.
  • Apply relevant policies and statutory requirements, communicating them to the wider team.
  • Assess and manage risks across the ward and hospital, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.
  • Promote diversity and inclusion, and act as a role model for the team.
  • Identify deficits in skill mix and safe staffing, and take action to address them.
  • Foster a culture of learning, development, and teamwork.
  • Support junior staff and student nurses.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a current NMC Pin.
  • Trained Assessor/Supervisor (preferred).
  • Clinical Supervision experience (essential), training desirable.
  • Proven commitment to Continued Professional Development and leadership.
  • Good computer skills.
  • 18 months to 2 years post-registration experience.
  • Demonstrable expertise within a clinical speciality.
