About the Role:

This exciting permanent opportunity seeks an experienced Podiatrist to lead diabetic foot care across the Podiatry North/Brighton & Hove localities. The primary focus will be in the North locality, offering expert clinical leadership and supervision to colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert clinical advice to colleagues on complex diabetic patients.
  • Ensure staff clinical competence and service effectiveness/safety.
  • Develop key partnerships and drive service improvements aligned with Trust strategy.
  • Treat and manage acute diabetic foot conditions in the community.
  • Undertake specialist podiatry treatments and interventions.
  • Develop and implement local and national standards/protocols for diabetes foot management.
  • Participate in relevant special interest groups and research initiatives.
  • Adhere to national and international diabetes foot management guidelines.
  • Maintain professional standards in accordance with CORU and College of Podiatry guidelines.
  • Manage own clinical and administrative practice within SCFT policies and national best practice.
  • Identify and implement quality improvements in diabetes foot management.
  • Ensure high-quality patient care through dignity, courtesy, kindness, and efficiency.
  • Provide standardised high-quality diabetes foot management.
  • Facilitate referrals to multidisciplinary diabetic foot teams.
  • Develop tailored management plans based on thorough assessments.
  • Work in a safe manner with due care and attention to the safety of self and others.
  • Implement national/international standards and evidence-based interventions.
  • Develop and review clinical care pathways for diabetes patients.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Advanced podiatric skills and experience in diabetic foot care.
  • Proven leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of relevant national and international guidelines for diabetes foot care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Competent in clinical assessments, diagnoses and management plans.
  • Experience supervising and mentoring colleagues.
