About the Role:

Lead and manage the operational aspects of facilities services at Leicester Royal Infirmary. Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and visitors, while adhering to Trust policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations of facilities services, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the achievement of good corporate governance within Domestic Services.
  • Ensure compliance with Trust policies, procedures, and all statutory responsibilities (e.g., Food Hygiene Regulations, COSHH, Health & Safety).
  • Provide leadership and set service objectives for staff, fostering a supportive work environment.
  • Manage budgets effectively, maximizing resource utilization.
  • Develop and train staff to deliver efficient and effective services.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested.
  • Oversee the implementation of facilities training and compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
  • Monitor service quality and performance through audits (including National Specification for Cleanliness).
  • Generate accurate and timely reports on audit results, patient feeding costs, and other relevant data.
  • Participate in clinical audit processes.
  • Manage designated budgets in line with the Trust’s Standing Financial Instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with incident reporting and risk management policies.
  • Manage staff performance, including performance reviews, sickness and absence management, grievance and disciplinary processes, and recruitment.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Proven experience in facilities management, ideally within a healthcare setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in staff supervision and training.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations (e.g., COSHH, Food Hygiene).
  • Financial management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in developing and implementing operational strategies.
  • Experience in managing budgets.
