About the Role:
Lead and manage the operational aspects of facilities services at Leicester Royal Infirmary. Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and visitors, while adhering to Trust policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of facilities services, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Contribute to the achievement of good corporate governance within Domestic Services.
- Ensure compliance with Trust policies, procedures, and all statutory responsibilities (e.g., Food Hygiene Regulations, COSHH, Health & Safety).
- Provide leadership and set service objectives for staff, fostering a supportive work environment.
- Manage budgets effectively, maximizing resource utilization.
- Develop and train staff to deliver efficient and effective services.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested.
- Oversee the implementation of facilities training and compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
- Monitor service quality and performance through audits (including National Specification for Cleanliness).
- Generate accurate and timely reports on audit results, patient feeding costs, and other relevant data.
- Participate in clinical audit processes.
- Manage designated budgets in line with the Trust’s Standing Financial Instructions.
- Ensure compliance with incident reporting and risk management policies.
- Manage staff performance, including performance reviews, sickness and absence management, grievance and disciplinary processes, and recruitment.
Skills and Expertise:
- Proven experience in facilities management, ideally within a healthcare setting.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in staff supervision and training.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations (e.g., COSHH, Food Hygiene).
- Financial management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in developing and implementing operational strategies.
- Experience in managing budgets.
