About the Role:
Join Mitie’s expanding People Team as a dedicated Employee Relations Advisor in Birmingham. This hybrid role, with Friday presence in our Birmingham office, offers flexible working to support your work-life balance. You’ll support managers with advice and coaching on Employee Relations cases, ensuring fair policies align with legislation and best practices while considering risk and commerciality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of complex Employee Relations issues.
- Utilize expertise in Employee Relations and employment law.
- Employ Mitie’s case management system for remote delivery.
- Collaborate with the wider HR team and senior stakeholders.
- Gain exposure to diverse contracts (public and private).
- Partner with the legal team on Early Conciliation and Employment Tribunal claims.
- Collaborate with Occupational Health providers.
- Conduct Employee Relations policy and process reviews, recommending improvements, and implementing enhanced services, policies, and procedures.
Skills and Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of Employee Relations policies and employment laws.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload (up to 60 cases).
- Experience in a HR Shared Service Centre (desirable).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confidentiality and respect in handling sensitive situations.
- Ability to approach situations with curiosity and various solution-oriented thinking.
- Providing accurate Employee Relations advice to managers.
- CIPD qualification at Levels 3, 5, or 7 (support for further studies available – desirable).
