About the Role:

Climate17 is partnering with a leading renewable energy company to recruit a results-driven Engineering Manager for their Bristol office. This role will lead the Technical Due Diligence and Owners Engineering services focusing on maximizing team and asset performance, while ensuring compliance, risk management, and value-add activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project timelines and expectations for the engineering pipeline.
  • Coordinate team member projects and provide updates to the Head of Engineering.
  • Monitor solar projects during construction, reviewing designs and commissioning processes.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and support business development activities.
  • Manage direct reports, ensuring wellbeing and supporting their projects.
  • Encourage participation in company training and activities.
  • Define project scope and price for engineering services, focusing on value-add activities.
  • Promote the engineering service offering within the investment team.
  • Meet with finance monthly, reviewing accruals, expenses, and invoicing status.
  • Provide quarterly financial summaries to the Head of Engineering.
  • Maintain data security and confidentiality adhering to company policies, GDPR, and relevant UK legislation.
  • Comply with all fire, health, and safety requirements.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in the solar industry.
  • Experience working as an EPC Contractor, Technical Advisor, or Engineering Design Contractor (preferred).
  • Expertise in electrical engineering drawings, calculations, short-circuit studies, switchgears, and technical report writing.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Excellent project management and contract management skills.
  • Profit and loss account management experience.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
