About the Role:
Thames Water seeks a self-motivated Engineering Project Manager to manage engineering projects across operational sites. This role will be responsible for the full lifecycle of CAPEX projects, from scoping to handover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and deliver a portfolio of Mechanical, Electrical, and ICA projects (typically 100,000-1,000,000).
- Manage multiple live projects concurrently, with further projects in various stages.
- Develop innovative solutions to operational problems, improving efficiency and delivering value.
- Collaborate with operations teams and contractors to scope, define, and cost solutions.
- Ensure adherence to zero-compromise health and safety policies and undertake monthly audits.
- Oversee project construction, in line with internal policies, procedures, and industry standards (CDM compliance).
- Collaborate with delivery partners and contractors to ensure timely project completion.
- Maintain compliance with Asset Standards, relevant British & International Standards, and professional codes of conduct.
- Conduct financial forecasting for live projects and report on value of work done (VOWD).
- Draft, vet, and approve pre-construction information, project programs, risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and construction phase plans (CPP).
- Supervise commissioning, training, and handover of completed projects to operations teams.
- Ensure completion documents (test certificates, operation and maintenance manuals, health and safety files, as-constructed drawings) are available and handed over.
Skills and Expertise:
- Engineering background (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering preferred).
- Formal qualifications (BTEC/HND or equivalent, or relevant experience).
- Knowledge of Clean Water Processing and/or Wastewater treatment.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders (internal colleagues, site employees, and external contractors).
- Strong self-motivation and initiative.
- Excellent understanding of Health and Safety standards, specifically construction works (CDM).
- Project Management experience (Construction or Engineering).
Job Facilities/Benefits:
- Car allowance (4,500 per annum).
- Competitive salary (56,000 per annum, depending on experience).
