About the Role:

Thames Water seeks a self-motivated Engineering Project Manager to manage engineering projects across operational sites. This role will be responsible for the full lifecycle of CAPEX projects, from scoping to handover.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and deliver a portfolio of Mechanical, Electrical, and ICA projects (typically 100,000-1,000,000).
  • Manage multiple live projects concurrently, with further projects in various stages.
  • Develop innovative solutions to operational problems, improving efficiency and delivering value.
  • Collaborate with operations teams and contractors to scope, define, and cost solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to zero-compromise health and safety policies and undertake monthly audits.
  • Oversee project construction, in line with internal policies, procedures, and industry standards (CDM compliance).
  • Collaborate with delivery partners and contractors to ensure timely project completion.
  • Maintain compliance with Asset Standards, relevant British & International Standards, and professional codes of conduct.
  • Conduct financial forecasting for live projects and report on value of work done (VOWD).
  • Draft, vet, and approve pre-construction information, project programs, risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and construction phase plans (CPP).
  • Supervise commissioning, training, and handover of completed projects to operations teams.
  • Ensure completion documents (test certificates, operation and maintenance manuals, health and safety files, as-constructed drawings) are available and handed over.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Engineering background (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering preferred).
  • Formal qualifications (BTEC/HND or equivalent, or relevant experience).
  • Knowledge of Clean Water Processing and/or Wastewater treatment.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders (internal colleagues, site employees, and external contractors).
  • Strong self-motivation and initiative.
  • Excellent understanding of Health and Safety standards, specifically construction works (CDM).
  • Project Management experience (Construction or Engineering).
