About the Role:
This exciting, fixed-term role at HMP Elmley seeks a dedicated Family Link Worker to provide crucial casework support to prisoners and their families, especially those on healthcare pathways. The role is focused on enabling and maintaining family contact to support the prisoners’ health needs within the prison environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with healthcare services, the prison, and other agencies to deliver family-focused casework.
- Support prisoners in maintaining contact with their families, ensuring their needs are considered.
- Develop referral pathways for families, prisoners, and professionals to access healthcare services.
- Advocate for the human rights of prisoner families, ensuring their views are heard at all levels.
Skills and Expertise:
- Demonstrable experience working with families and health services, ideally in a multi-agency environment involving prisoners.
- Proven ability to advocate for families facing imprisonment and promote their human rights.
- Strong understanding of healthcare and its integration with prison systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to develop and implement referral pathways.
