About the Role:
This role involves actively supporting home-educating families in Birmingham, ensuring proper service engagement and offering crucial advice and support. You will play a key part in allocating referrals, guiding parents on their responsibilities, and monitoring children’s well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to referrals and support existing home-educating families.
- Allocate referrals within agreed timeframes.
- Educate home-educating parents on their roles and responsibilities.
- Undertake checks to ensure children’s safety and escalate any concerns.
- Effectively record and monitor referrals on the Impulse database.
- Communicate regularly with the Elective Home Education Team and other relevant departments/agencies.
Skills and Expertise:
- Minimum Level 3 NVQ in Children & Families Social Care, Education Welfare, Youth Work, Early Years, or Teaching.
- Experience in the education sector.
- Understanding of the needs of home education.
- Enhanced DBS check.
Job Facilities/Benefits:
- Full-time, interim position (3-month contract).
