About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Officer to join our trust, playing a crucial role in maintaining financial accuracy and compliance. This role will involve contributing to the trust’s strategic vision and working closely with senior leaders and finance colleagues to achieve optimal outcomes for children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain financial accounting systems across the MAT, ensuring compliance with Academies Financial Handbook and relevant legislative requirements.
- Prepare year-end working papers, liaise with external auditors, and complete year-end accounts using DAPA software.
- Produce timely and accurate financial information utilizing the Trust’s systems and processes, meeting the standards of the Trust, ESFA, Audit Commission, and the accountancy profession.
- Collaborate with the Trust HR and Payroll Team to ensure accurate returns and reporting.
Skills and Expertise:
- Qualified Accountant status (CCAB qualification or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in DAPA software.
- Exceptional communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
