About the Role:
Care UK seeks a highly motivated Fire & Property Safety Project Manager to spearhead building-related projects across our care homes in the UK. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage Care UKs fire and property safety policies and procedures.
- Create and execute high-level fire safety programmes.
- Maintain the client risk assessment log (Smartsheet) weekly.
- Scope remedial works using specialist consultants for larger schemes based on third-party risk assessments.
- Organize and manage site meetings, reviewing and approving remedial proposals using Care UKs CAFM system.
- Ensure contracts, RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements), and insurances are in place.
- Instruct and monitor works, manage variations, address quality issues, and manage snagging.
- Process interim and final account payments.
- Report breaches and issues to contractors, Head of Facilities, and consultants.
- Liaise with external consultants (Fire Officers, H&S Officers, Landlord agents, CQC, local authorities).
- Obtain necessary landlord consent, building regulations approval, and planning permission.
- Implement the companys health and safety policy, emergency & evacuation procedures, and disaster recovery plan, promoting safe working practices.
Skills and Expertise:
- Relevant qualifications and experience in fire safety management.
- Experience managing suppliers, contractors, and operational managers across multiple sites.
- Strong multi-tasking and time management skills.
- Understanding of care home environments (desirable).
- Willingness to travel.
