About the Role:
Provide high-quality medical services to patients in the Ruby Country Medical Group. This role involves a mix of face-to-face and telephone consultations, with a focus on patient care and accurate record keeping. You will also support the practice in other clinical and administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering medical services (face-to-face & telephone appointments).
- Following up test results and managing correspondence.
- Undertaking duty doctor roles as scheduled.
- Referring patients to secondary care as appropriate.
- Maintaining accurate patient records and adhering to practice procedures.
- Participating in clinical governance initiatives.
- Liaising with other healthcare professionals.
- Conducting medical examinations, issuing certificates, and writing reports (if required).
- Completing investigations, referrals, and associated documentation.
- Responding to patient and healthcare professional queries.
- Carrying out clinical duties, including managing acute and chronic conditions.
- Working within practice policies on prescribing, referral, and general clinical issues.
- Supporting medical students at the practice.
- Completing administrative tasks.
- Attending and participating in practice meetings.
- Maintaining ongoing professional development.
- Performing work outside the NHS as required.
Skills and Expertise:
- General Practice Qualification (essential).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Knowledge of electronic record keeping systems.
- Proficiency in handling patient correspondence and administration.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple commitments simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF).
- Willingness to support the home visiting team if needed.
- Clinical competence in dealing with acute and chronic conditions.
