About the Role:

This General Practitioner position in Neath offers a rewarding opportunity to provide high-quality patient care within a supportive practice environment. The role involves handling various medical needs, preventative healthcare, and on-call coverage. You will actively participate in improving patient outcomes through clinical governance and audits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responding to patient medical needs, including history taking, examination, investigation, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Providing remote consultations via phone or ASKMYGP.
  • Providing preventative health care and advice.
  • Providing on-call cover.
  • Adhering to practice prescribing formulary.
  • Preparing medical reports for insurance companies, employers, and statutory bodies.
  • Participating in clinical governance and quality improvement activities.
  • Participating in the training and development of nurses and non-clinical staff.
  • Supporting practice staff and responding to requests for advice and assistance.
  • Completing daily tasks such as results, letters, reports, repeat prescribing.
  • Undertaking mandatory practice training.
  • Maintaining professional conduct and encouraging team spirit.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Extensive medical knowledge and experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in patient assessment and diagnosis.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
