About the Role:

This locum consultant role in haematology at NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde, based at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, offers a dynamic opportunity to provide expert care and support for patients with various conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide diagnosis, screening, treatment, and management of patient care across ward, outpatient clinic, and laboratory settings.
  • Actively support patients and families, communicating clinical information effectively.
  • Coordinate treatment plans and prescribe treatments.
  • Monitor and care for patients continuously.
  • Communicate with patients and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Lead and work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Assess and prioritize patient needs, delegating effectively.
  • Recognize, review, and report patient conditions and changes.
  • Perform administrative tasks like record keeping, prescription writing, and treatment monitoring.
  • Conduct research to improve procedures and outcomes.
  • Train and mentor junior doctors and medical students.

Skills and Expertise:

  • GMC registered Doctor (no requirement to be on Specialist Register).
  • Consultant-level experience or evidence of demonstrable experience in transition to Consultant role.
  • Proof of UK Right to Work.
  • Eligibility for enhanced background check (DBS).
