About the Role:
Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Locum Haematology Consultant to provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and support to patients across various specialties. This role offers unique opportunities for clinical development and collaboration within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide diagnosis, screening, treatment, and management of patient care.
- Support patients and families with clear communication of clinical information.
- Coordinate treatment plans and prescribe various treatments.
- Monitor patient care and respond to changes in condition.
- Communicate with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams where appropriate.
- Prioritize patient needs, delegate tasks effectively, and assess requirements.
- Review and report patient conditions to relevant teams.
- Perform administrative tasks, including record-keeping and prescribing.
- Conduct research to improve procedures and outcomes.
- Mentor junior doctors and medical students, and contribute to team training.
Skills and Expertise:
- GMC registered Doctor
- Consultant-level experience (or demonstrable transition potential)
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced background check (DBS) required
