About the Role:

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Locum Haematology Consultant to provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and support to patients across various specialties. This role offers unique opportunities for clinical development and collaboration within a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide diagnosis, screening, treatment, and management of patient care.
  • Support patients and families with clear communication of clinical information.
  • Coordinate treatment plans and prescribe various treatments.
  • Monitor patient care and respond to changes in condition.
  • Communicate with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams where appropriate.
  • Prioritize patient needs, delegate tasks effectively, and assess requirements.
  • Review and report patient conditions to relevant teams.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including record-keeping and prescribing.
  • Conduct research to improve procedures and outcomes.
  • Mentor junior doctors and medical students, and contribute to team training.

Skills and Expertise:

  • GMC registered Doctor
  • Consultant-level experience (or demonstrable transition potential)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced background check (DBS) required
