About the Role:
Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Locum Consultant in Haematology to provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and patient care in Preston. This role offers varied responsibilities across ward, clinic, and laboratory settings, and excellent opportunities for professional growth within a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide diagnosis, screening, treatment, preoperative, operative, and postoperative management of patient care.
- Actively support patients and their families, communicating clinical information.
- Coordinate treatment plans and prescribe various treatments.
- Provide constant monitoring and care for patients.
- Communicate with patients and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Work in and lead a multidisciplinary team, where appropriate.
- Assess and prioritise patient needs, delegating effectively.
- Recognise, review, and report patient conditions and changes.
- Perform basic administrative tasks.
- Conduct research to improve procedures and outcomes.
- Teach and train junior doctors and medical students.
Skills and Expertise:
- GMC registered Doctor (not required to be on Specialist Register)
- Relevant Consultant-level experience or demonstrable potential for progression.
- UK Right to Work (no visa sponsorship offered).
- Successful completion of an enhanced background check (DBS).
