About the Role:

BaxterStorey is seeking a visionary Head Chef to lead our culinary team in London. You will oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and service. Your leadership and culinary expertise will play a crucial role in creating exceptional dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement innovative menus aligned with current trends and customer preferences.
  • Lead and inspire a skilled culinary team, fostering a positive and productive kitchen environment.
  • Manage kitchen operations, including staff scheduling, inventory control, and food cost management.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
  • Collaborate with management to achieve financial targets and improve kitchen performance.
  • Oversee food preparation, presentation, and quality control.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts for quality ingredients.
  • Participate in menu tastings, events, and customer feedback sessions to refine culinary offerings.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, implementing new techniques and technologies to enhance efficiency and quality.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Culinary degree or diploma from a recognised institution.
  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar senior culinary role in high-volume operations.
  • Advanced knowledge of various cuisines and culinary techniques.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, motivating and developing staff.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in menu planning, recipe development, and food cost control.
  • In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations, including food hygiene and allergen management.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and profit management.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Up-to-date food hygiene and safety certifications.
  • Passion for culinary innovation and commitment to exceptional dining experiences.
