About the Role:
Lead a nurturing and inclusive school community as Head Teacher, focusing on student well-being and academic progress. Shape the educational experience for students with complex needs in Wigan. Lead the school to consistently meet the requirements of the Independent School Standards and the Education Inspection Framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a vision for the school aligning with the Polaris Community’s values.
- Lead the school to consistently meet the requirements of the Independent School Standards and the Education Inspection Framework.
- Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, managing and reporting concerns appropriately.
- Adapt and tailor the curriculum to meet diverse student needs.
- Champion a nurturing pastoral approach, emphasizing emotional well-being and social development.
- Advocate for SEN students, aligned with EHCP objectives.
- Support and mentor staff, fostering a collaborative team spirit.
- Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external partners.
Skills and Expertise:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with Primary/Secondary teaching experience.
- Suitable First degree and /or NPQH (not essential).
- Experience working with SEN students.
- Proven leadership skills, inspiring and motivating others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
