About the Role:

Delivering exceptional drug and alcohol services to clients and their support networks, this role focuses on facilitating positive outcomes. It includes community detoxification, support for opiate detoxification, and referrals for specialist inpatient care. The role also involves supporting outreach and harm reduction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, person-centred, low-threshold services, considering diverse needs and preferences.
  • Deliver evidence-based clinical and psychosocial interventions, both individually and in groups.
  • Take an assertive approach to service user disengagement.
  • Deliver harm reduction advice, guidance, and education, including blood-borne virus interventions, overdose prevention, and health and wellbeing screening.
  • Support access to education, employment, and health/wellbeing support.
  • Support students, volunteers, peer mentors, and service user representatives.
  • Identify and manage risks in accordance with safeguarding policies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records using the designated case management system.
  • Work flexibly, including across multiple sites and peripatetically when needed.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Proven experience in drug and alcohol services.
  • Expertise in community detoxification and support.
  • Knowledge of relevant safeguarding policies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent record-keeping and organizational skills.
  • Basic Life Support and Anaphylaxis training.
  • Confident and competent to manage medical emergencies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
