About the Role:

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist nursing staff with patient care, including activities of daily living.
- Provide support with nutrition, hydration, and continence.
- Promote patient activity and monitor pressure areas.
- Document fluid balance and pressure area care.
- Assist patients with hygiene, personal care, and grooming (including emptying catheter bags).
- Provide toileting needs while ensuring patient privacy and dignity.
- Support patients managing incontinence.
- Measure fluid intake and output, reporting to registered nurses.
- Prepare patients for mealtimes and assist with feeding as needed.
- Perform moving and handling tasks in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Enable patient mobility through exercise and mobility aids.
- Prevent pressure sores in line with patient care plans.
- Obtain patient specimens for ward or laboratory tests.
- Assist nurses in end-of-life care.
- Initiate Basic Life Support as appropriate and support registered nurses.
Skills and Expertise:
- Enthusiastic and highly motivated healthcare assistant.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience in patient care, ideally with some knowledge of palliative care.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidelines regarding patient care.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing exceptional patient care
