About the Role:

Lead and manage operational aspects of clinical teams and visiting professionals within the Milton Keynes prison healthcare system. Coordinate multi-agency partnerships and collaborate effectively with regional providers to achieve high-quality care standards equivalent to the NHS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational management and leadership to prison clinical teams and visiting professionals.
  • Coordinate and oversee multi-agency partnerships.
  • Manage and contribute to the development of healthcare services.
  • Establish equivalence of care to NHS standards, adhering to Prison Service Instructions, National Service Frameworks, and NICE guidance.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and development of Offender Health services.
  • Develop G4S healthcare services.
  • Ensure effective working relationships with G4S and the Governing Governor.
  • Establish and facilitate links with educational and training providers.
  • Provide cross-cluster prison healthcare management support.
  • Deputise for the Associate Director when required.
  • Provide senior management support and advice to Offender Health out of hours via on-call system.
  • Produce informative reports and presentations, including proactive corrective action planning.
  • Develop new systems, roles, models, and pathways of care delivery.
  • Undertake clinical audit of nursing practice.
  • Contribute to CQC and NOMS joint inspections.
  • Contribute to improving patient experience through effective patient engagement and quality initiatives.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Operational management experience within a healthcare environment.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience coordinating multi-agency partnerships.
  • Knowledge of prison service standards, National Service Frameworks, and NICE guidelines.
  • Strategic planning and development experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Clinical audit experience.
  • Experience in healthcare service development.
  • Understanding of CQC and NOMS inspection processes.
