About the Role:

CBW Staffing Solutions is seeking a skilled Heating Engineer for a permanent, full-time position in Salford, Greater Manchester. This role is key in maintaining the optimal performance and longevity of the client’s mechanical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical systems (HVAC, pump systems, air compressors, water chillers, plumbing, boilers, etc.).
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities (work orders, inspections, repairs).
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Assist in the procurement of necessary parts and supplies.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior maintenance staff.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and provide timely resolutions.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Qualified to at least Level 3 City & Guilds in Mechanical Maintenance Engineering or Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within the facilities management industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, boilers).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

Job Facilities/Benefits:

  • Competitive salary between 40,000 – 42,000 per annum (depending on experience).
  • Core hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday (40 hours per week).
