About the Role:

We are seeking a Locum Consultant Histopathologist for Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This role focuses on diagnosing and treating a range of diseases through the analysis of tissue and fluid samples, providing critical information to patients and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support patients and families, effectively communicating diagnoses.
  • Work within and lead multidisciplinary teams as needed.
  • Prioritize patient needs, effectively delegate tasks.
  • Conduct patient assessments and determine necessary tests.
  • Advise clinical staff on diagnostic investigations.
  • Interpret test results and determine appropriate further actions.
  • Provide clinical care, conduct ward rounds and outpatient clinics.
  • Manage Pathology Department operations, plan workload and staffing.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff.
  • Conduct research and stay current with medical advancements.
  • Adhere to NMC professional standards.

Skills and Expertise:

  • GMC registered Doctor (not required to be on Specialist Register)
  • Consultant-level experience or evidence of progression towards consultant level.
  • UK Right to Work (no visa sponsorship offered).
  • DBS clearance.
