About the Role:
We are seeking a highly qualified Histopathology Consultant to join our team at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This full-time position requires expertise in Breast pathology, with proficiency in at least one additional area (Urology, Gynaecology, or Dermatology). The role offers a rewarding opportunity to diagnose, treat, and prevent diseases through tissue and fluid analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support patients and families, effectively communicating diagnoses.
- Lead and/or participate in multidisciplinary teams.
- Prioritize patient needs, delegate tasks effectively, and oversee department workflow.
- Examine patients, determine necessary tests, and interpret results.
- Advise clinical staff on diagnostic investigations.
- Interpret test results, assess further investigation needs.
- Provide patient care, conduct ward rounds and clinics.
- Manage pathology department operations, including planning and staffing.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff.
- Conduct research and stay updated on developments.
- Adhere to NMC professional standards.
Skills and Expertise:
- GMC registered Doctor (no specialist register requirement)
- Relevant Consultant-level experience or demonstrable pathway to Consultant level
- Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
- Successful completion of enhanced background check (DBS)
- Expertise in Breast pathology and at least one additional area of pathology (Urology, Gynaecology, or Dermatology)
