About the Role:
This temporary, full-time Project Officer position focuses on delivering training and support to individuals experiencing homelessness in Newport to promote financial resilience and tenancy sustainment. The role emphasizes improving numeracy skills, personal budgeting, and achieving financial inclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver training to service users on financial resilience and numeracy skills.
- Support service users in accessing statutory and voluntary services for financial support.
- Contribute to preventing homelessness by supporting households with a statutory duty.
- Enable financial and digital inclusion for service users.
- Network with housing advice, prevention teams, and external organisations.
- Maintain knowledge of welfare benefits and income maximisation legislation.
- Conduct needs assessments and create individual training and support plans.
- Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness, including service user feedback.
- Develop and deliver structured training materials and resources.
- Plan and deliver training using effective coaching and learning strategies.
- Evaluate training courses and provide service user feedback.
- Coordinate marketing and promotional activities, including social media content creation.
- Make referrals for safeguarding concerns.
- Develop trauma-informed support packages and personal support plans.
- Help clients access community resources and relevant services.
- Complete other duties as required to ensure consistent service delivery.
- Adhere to financial regulations, Health & Safety, confidentiality, and other policies.
Skills and Expertise:
- Proven experience in supporting individuals experiencing homelessness.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of financial literacy and numeracy skills.
- Experience in delivering training and support to diverse groups.
- Understanding of welfare benefits and relevant legislation.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in creating and delivering training materials.
- Experience in using data and feedback to improve services.
- Experience with GDPR and confidentiality procedures.
