About the Role:

This exciting opportunity within the Infant Feeding Team of Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust seeks a motivated and experienced individual to promote, protect, and support breastfeeding, ensuring adherence to UNICEF Baby Friendly standards within the Early Start 0-19 Health Visiting Service. The role involves providing tailored support and information to families to help them make informed choices about infant feeding. Additionally, you’ll contribute to the health and wellbeing of primary school children through height and weight checks as part of the National Child Measurement Programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance and support for breastfeeding and infant feeding in line with best practice and UNICEF Baby Friendly standards.
  • Deliver health and wellbeing support to primary school children, including conducting height and weight checks for reception and year six children as part of the National Child Measurement Programme.
  • Work closely with families to promote healthy lifestyle choices and achieve positive health outcomes.
  • Manage workload independently and effectively.

Skills and Expertise:

  • NVQ3 qualification in a relevant field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong knowledge of current best practices in infant and breastfeeding support.
  • Previous experience working with children and families, particularly in providing infant feeding support, promoting health outcomes, or working in a school/nursery setting is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time and workload effectively.
