About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic team in the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, ensuring efficient stock movement, and supporting global supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to meet demand, minimizing excess stock.
- Accurately record inventory transactions (movements, changes, returns) in the system.
- Conduct regular stock counts, audits, and reconcile discrepancies between physical and system data.
- Implement and maintain inventory control methods to reduce errors and prevent stock losses.
- Collaborate with buying teams to guarantee timely and accurate stock replenishment.
- Identify inventory utilization patterns and recommend optimal stock levels.
- Monitor supplier lead times and adjust inventory levels to prevent stockouts or surplus.
- Create regular inventory reports showing stock levels, turnover rates, and stock aging.
- Analyze inventory data to identify issues like overstocking, stockouts, and slow-moving items.
- Recommend changes based on data analysis conclusions.
- Coordinate stock movement between locations with logistics and warehouse teams, ensuring timely and efficient transfer.
- Track stock from receipt to distribution, employing proper storage methods to avoid damage or loss.
- Support return management, ensuring accurate accounting and processing of returned stock.
- Collaborate with procurement, sales, and customer service teams to address inventory-related issues.
- Provide exceptional customer service by ensuring product availability and promptly addressing inventory inquiries.
Skills and Expertise:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of data accurately.
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving approach to inventory issues.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level) for reporting and data analysis.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems (ERP or WMS).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of logistics and distribution processes.
- Understanding of global inventory regulations (if applicable).
- A-levels or equivalent; degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field is advantageous.
- Relevant certifications in inventory management or supply chain (e.g., APICS, CIPS) are a plus.
- Knowledge of SAP Business One is desirable.
