About the Role:

Cygnet Healthcare is seeking a passionate and confident Kitchen Assistant for their new state-of-the-art PICU & Acute hospital in Oldbury, West Midlands. This role involves preparing nutritious and appealing meals, maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, and supporting a multi-disciplinary team in providing the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of balanced and appetizing meals.
  • Perform cooking tasks and other kitchen duties.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas, and dining room.
  • Wash utensils, dishes, and ensure proper storage.
  • Rotate stock and put away deliveries.
  • Maintain personal hygiene and adhere to food hygiene regulations.
  • Handle, maintain, and store kitchen equipment according to procedures.
  • Use chemicals in accordance with COSHH regulations.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Experience in catering, ideally within a care setting.
  • Valid food hygiene certificate.
  • Strong personal hygiene standards.
  • Enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and teamwork skills.
  • Professionalism, positive attitude, and excellent communication skills.
  • Diligence, attention to detail, and pride in maintaining cleanliness.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
