About the Role:
This fixed-term role seeks a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide vital support for children with additional support needs (ASN) at Stornoway Primary School. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teaching staff in meeting the educational, personal care, and welfare needs of children with ASN.
- Undertake playground and lunchtime supervision.
- Support the inclusion of all pupils in the school setting.
- Support the health and well-being of pupils, following the Getting It Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) framework.
Skills and Expertise:
- Proven experience working with children, ideally in a relevant capacity (e.g., parent, volunteer, or professional).
- Understanding of the basic needs of children.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Patient, cheerful, and flexible personality.
- Ability to cooperate effectively with others.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Job Facilities/Benefits:
- 8,381 – 8,689 per annum, inclusive of 805 Distant Islands Allowance.
