About the Role:
Dorset Integrated Non-Custodial Service seeks lived experience Support Workers to provide crucial support to individuals within the criminal justice system. This role offers the opportunity to utilize personal experience to improve the wellbeing and outcomes of others.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to clients.
- Guide clients toward accessing relevant agencies and services.
- Collaborate with experienced Support Workers to gain experience.
- Develop skills and knowledge to manage own caseload.
- Support clients with mental health, physical health, housing, social inclusion, education, debt management, and employment.
Skills and Expertise:
- Lived experience of mental health issues, drug/alcohol problems, care system, or criminal justice involvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
- Experience working with vulnerable individuals.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
