About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Operative to join our team in Berkshire. This role is key to maintaining a safe and well-presented environment for all visitors and residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the upkeep of the Care Home and grounds, including planned maintenance.
- Ensure smooth operation of all services (heating, lighting, plumbing, non-medical equipment).
- Maintain the home’s exterior, ensuring pathways, driveways, plants, and landscaping are well-maintained.
- Ensure compliance with all essential checks and report maintenance defects.
- Engage with stakeholders to effectively and efficiently complete all allocated tasks.
- Undertake decorating, minor refurbishment, and maintenance work.
- Provide out-of-hours emergency service and temporary cover for sister homes.
- Actively participate as a Fire Warden, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of policies and procedures.
- Assemble and install new equipment.
- Assist with fire and water risk assessments.
- Perform plumbing, joinery, and general building repairs.
- Maintain the company vehicle and carry out basic safety checks.
Skills and Expertise:
- Genuine interest in promoting independence for older people.
- Ability to work unsupervised and carry out fault finding.
- Basic repair skills for equipment (e.g., catering, laundry).
- Passion for enhancing specialist services.
- Teamwork and excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety standards.
