About the Role:

We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Maternity Support Workers to join our team at Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Your role is crucial in supporting patients and families throughout their maternity journey. You will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Registered Midwives in delivering patient-focused care to mothers and babies.
  • Support women with personal care needs, including mobilisation, toileting, bathing, dressing, and emotional support.
  • Provide emotional care and support to families with the care of their baby.
  • Undertake and record observations, provide breastfeeding support, and conduct parent education.
  • Communicate sensitively and compassionately with patients, relatives, and other team members.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Passion for providing compassionate patient care.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations (preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours during outpatient clinic hours (8am-6pm, Monday-Friday).
