About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and qualified Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at a large Portsmouth hospital. This role involves installation, maintenance, and repair of critical mechanical systems across the facility, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and maintenance of sprinkler pipework, air handling units, pumps, steam pipework, heating, air pod dispensaries, and plumbing and heating systems.
- System diagnostic and fault finding (boiler, AHU, HVAC, plants, and components).
- Copper soldering and brazing, PVC/Stainless Steel pipefitting, including threading and grooving machines, and Mapress/Express crimping equipment.
- Repairing malfunctioning machines and systems.
- Identifying and resolving equipment problems to ensure smooth operation.
- Developing and implementing maintenance routines and procedures for all equipment.
- Ensuring equipment component replacement based on functional life to prevent malfunctions.
- Service and troubleshooting of equipment, and replacing faulty components.
- Inspection of structures to ensure adherence to relevant legislation.
Skills and Expertise:
- Fully qualified Mechanical Fitter with C&G/NVQ level 2 & 3.
- Proven track record in commercial building maintenance.
- Experience working in a large hospital environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficient in relevant tools and equipment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
