About the Role:
This critical role within Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust involves welcoming and screening visitors, ensuring site safety, and supporting daily operations. Maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for visitors and staff is paramount.
Key Responsibilities:
- Confirming the legitimacy of persons entering premises/sites and monitoring their verbal interactions and behaviour.
- Maintaining safety processes and procedures, including responding to alarms, fire, or medical emergencies, and ensuring equipment maintenance.
- Collaborating closely with security functions, if applicable.
- Acting as the main point of contact for visitors, supporting the day-to-day operation of the hub/site, including ensuring the safety of reception/waiting areas.
Skills and Expertise:
- Genuine care and compassion for visitors, patients, and their families/carers, with a particular understanding of mental health vulnerabilities.
- Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain safety processes and procedures.
- Willingness to collaborate with security personnel, if applicable.
- Ability to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all visitors
